“I’ve been doing this for a very long time, and what really inspires me is our founder- my boss, Sam Fox. He’s the most visionary and hardworking person that I’ve known all my career. He inspires everyone around him to be as successful as he is, or even better. When we create these beautiful restaurants, it’s about more than the design. It’s about everything outside around it. All of our senses are inspired, so how can you not love what you do when you can create these visionary places people get to visit, and enjoy. That’s what inspires me everyday.”

“Every field that I’ve been in has been male dominated, going into the college of architecture there were only ‘decorators’ which were females that went into design. So, I learned very early that I was only one of the few that started something. A group of architects came into our school sporadically, and it was always a group of men and one woman who I always looked up to. She never allowed anyone to talk to her differently. So, I taught myself to go into the field and not let anyone treat me less than my male colleagues either. I’ve never had a female leader or boss, so as a leader, I am very conscious of treating my male and female colleagues the same.”

“Maintain your integrity, and work ethics. Don’t lose who you are, and treat people the way you would like to be treated. Lastly, always remember that there is someone out there who is looking up to you, so you want to set a good example for everyone by the way you behave.”
